Harrington for the Holidays
Harrington for the Holidays is our newest event and what a great event we have planned for our citizens and visitors!
It all kicks off with the Tree Lighting on December 3, 2026,beginning at 7pm. New this year will be a 22 foot Christmas Tree, a lighted Christmas Village and a walk through Christmas Path. The lights will remain on till January 2nd, with the path being open till 9pm each night.New Location! The event will take place at Harrington Parks & Recreation, 114 East Liberty St in Harrington. The Christmas Village will feature small buildings that you can decorate! Either a family, business, church, or just any group can sign up to do your best Clark Griswold! We will be awarding a prize to the best decorated mini house!
Then get ready for Santa to come to town! The Annual Christmas Parade will take place on Friday, December 4, 2026 at 7pm. This year’s theme will celebrate America 250!
Our newest event ties together three great Christmas Tradition, shopping, food and a marketplace! On Saturday, December 5, 2026, several of our local shoppes will participate in a Holiday Stroll beginning at 9am. There will be lots of great items for sale, so get that special gift for someone or that perfect decoration for your home! Be sure to visit all the retailers and get your card stamped. And who doesn’t get hungry while they are shopping! Several local restaurants will be running specials for the event. And that card will get you a special treat! Then wrap up your day by visiting our Christmas Marketplace. Among the mini houses and Christmas lights, we will have a marketplace featuring craft vendors and food stalls. Inside the William R Outten building, Mr. & Mrs. Clause and the Grinch will be present for fun and photos. There will be games for the kids and other fun Christmas projects for all ages. The event is from 3 pm to 8pm.
And then stay round for an event that has become a local tradition. On Sunday, December 6, 2026 the Harrington Fire Company will be holding their annual Breakfast with Santa. Lots of good food and a chance to get those special photos with the jolly old elf! Visit the Harrington Fire Company website for times and tickets.
