The Harrington Public Library serves the needs of the residents of its service area by providing diversified, accurate, and useful materials, programs, and services to satisfy the people’s desire for lifelong learning and to enhance the quality of life in the community. Special emphasis is placed on providing to persons of all ages, current, high-demand, high interest materials through traditional and emerging technologies.
The oldest record of a library in Harrington dates back to the 1880’s. Since then the off again, on again, Harrington Public Library has called City Hall home, a single wide trailer on Commerce St, and even a former funeral home.
That all changed in 2024! The new 15,000 sq ft facility opened on October 7th, 2024 and now host all manner of events, programs, and is a state-of-the-art modern facility designed to meet the public’s needs for decades to come. The new facility is located at 101 Little Mastens Corner Road • Harrington, DE 19952.
With your Delaware Library card, you can access the physical collection at the Harrington Public Library or go online to access all of the state library’s e-services and items. Our programs are open to everyone, library card or not, and are not limited to those living in Harrington. Our programs are always free!
