Harrington Park & William R “Bobby” Outten Building Ribbon Cutting and Dedication









On Friday, September 18, 2026, City Officials gathered to officially open the City of Harrington Park and dedicate the refurbished former National Guard facility to former State Representative Robert “Bobby’ Outten. Representative Outten was instrumental in acquiring both the building, as well as funding for the project.
Six years in planning and construction, the nearly 1.6 million dollar project boast three outdoor pickleball courts, an outdoor basketball court, a 1/2 mile walking trail, a covered pavilion, and a 9800 sq ft multipurpose facility for indoor programs and events, a large playground for children, dog waste stations, and even a lending library. Three restrooms will soon be completed, providing additional amenities to the park. Both the indoor facility and pavilion are available for rental to the public. The pavilion, when not rented, is available on a first come, first serve bases. The outdoor areas are open from Dawn to Dusk. The indoor facility also has four indoor pickelball courts for use during daytime operational hours, these are include with your adult fitness membership to HPR.
